Internship Opportunities
Deltree is looking for bright, ambitious, and creative college students and graduates to join our internship program in our downtown, New Orleans office. The position is available immediately and would last 4-6 months, with a possibility of future full-time/contract work for the right individual.
The Deltree Internship Program is a unique opportunity to gain solid professional experience and build a reel in a busy and start-up production office. Our interns are given the opportunity to work independently and think creatively. We are on the lookout for talented individuals to participate in development, production, post-production and marketing.
General Requirements (All of our interns must:)
- Think big and believe big and want to make the world a better place
- Love cinema, design, music or any genre, but you must have a passion for film. You don't have to be a walking IMDB, but a passion and love is essential.
- Have some sort of reel, portfolio, or work to present. Having work online would be ideal.
- Help facilitate social media conversations and web communications across Deltree projects
- Assist in the co-ordination of film launch events and parties and interviews
- Proficiency in Spanish is a benefit, but not required
We currently have immediate needs in the following areas:
1. Post-Production Internship (Editing, Sound-Design)
For those interested specifically in post-production, Deltree is a unique opportunity to edit high quality footage, concepts, and projects. Some Final Cut Pro experience is preferred. You will do everything from logging and capturing footage, to putting together assembly cuts, and eventually trying your hand at editing commercial films and creative shorts. Within 6 months this individual would ideally have an editorial reel that would match or surpass a film program graduate's reel.
Responsibilities:
- Partial or full project editing responsibilities, depending on experience and confidence
- Editorial of FiftyPeopleOneQuestion.com projects
- Editorial of commercial film projects
- Editorial of creative short film projects
- Music Selection/Research
- Working with the Director and Producers to develop editorial creative direction
Qualifications:
- Experience with FCP or Adobe Premiere CS3/CS4
- Music production or editing experience would be preferred
- Have some experience in film production and editing, YouTube, 48hour film-fest, or anything similar
- Have a good sense of design, composition, storytelling
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, typographic design
- An eye for detail, timing, and beauty
2. Production Internship (Cinematography/Lighting)
The ideal individual would aspire to be be a Director of Photography, gaffer/grip. We strongly feel that with the current project load, this intern would quickly have numerous projects and experiences under his/her belt and a reel to show for it.
Responsibilities:
- Providing on-set/off-set Production Assistance, AC, and eventually DP support to projects
- Assistant Camera Operating
- Production assistance and involvement in FiftyPeopleOneQuestion.com projects
- Production assistance and involvement in commercial film projects
- Production assistance and involvement in creative short film projects
- Music Selection/Researching or Director of Photography responsibilities, depending on project and experience
- Working with the Director and Producers to develop editorial creative direction
Qualifications:
- Familiarity and a passion for the principals of photography and lighting
- A photography or film portfolio of any sort would be preferred
- A good balance of technical ability and a creative eye
- Some experience/familiarity operating HD digital equipment (HVX200/EX1/RED/ETC)
- Has produced any type of film: YouTube, 48hour film-fest, or anything similar
- Have a good sense of design, composition, storytelling
- An eye for the big picture, and an eye for beauty
- Loves to run around set and loves to do what it takes to make a production "happen"
3. Writing & Marketing Internship
We are looking for an intern to work with our Creative Strategist to gain real-world experience in creating branding films and Internet campaigns. You will help coordinate marketing shoots, deal directly with high profile clients, and learn valuable professional skills.
- Prepare, assemble and follow-up on correspondence, project proposals and promotional materials.
- Brainstorm ideas, develop storyboards, scripts for commercial and creative projects

How to Apply
This position is UNPAID, and at this time there is NO stipend for travel or food expenses. However, all expenses are paid for on production and equipment/software is provided.
You must commit to 2-3 full weekdays per week, for approximately 4-6 months. We will try to work with your schedule, but consistent attendance is required. The position is available immediately. Please
